What is Public Records?

Public records" means any document, correspondence, completed form, bound record book, photograph, film, map drawing, machine-readable materialsound recording, compact disc or other forms of documents, regardless of physical form or characteristics,that have been created by or received by any agency in any state in connection with a transaction of public business, and/or legislative records.

Public records includes all original documents, receipts necessary to prove the validity of any transaction relating to the to anyl public property and public income from all sources whatsoever.

Business or office files and correspondance include such records as exhibits, drawings, maps, forms, or documents and classified as official public records; duplicate copies of any official public records filed with an agency of a state; reports and other documents or recordsthat are considered to be office files and memoranda.
